Gotham City- 2100

"So the one to take out the most on the list will be declared the best." a shadowed figure said "That's not fair, Delilah has an entire league of us to take on this list."
"And you have your Shadow Society" Delilah said "Everyone here has the same chances of winning but why should I participate in this little game? What will I win? The League of Assassins is already known as the best, what will winning this prove. I need more."
"What would you like?"
Delilah smirked a bit looking around at the others "Complete control of all your organizations."
"No way, not unless you make the same agreement"
"Would I make such a suggestion if I wasn't willing to put my assassins up as well" Delilah smiled "If one of you should win then I will gladly submit."
"Is everyone agreed to the terms then?"
"Yes"
"Good, the winner is declared the best and takes control of all other assassin guilds"

Weeks later, Derek sits in a coffee shop by himself, reading through a few files.

Vivian walks into the office of her superior, Commissioner Henri. She looks around the room to discover that there are five other people there, sitting around the room. They all look up at her and follow her with their eyes as she approaches the man behind the desk. "Sir, you called for me?"

"Yes, Vivian. I requested this meeting with you because of recent events. This vigilante Hush thing of yours."

"My understanding was that my suspension would be the last we'd remind ourselves of that."

The Commissioner then stands from behind his desk and turns to the window, looking out into Gotham. "Yes...well something's come up. In the past, we've been a bit...too reliant on these vigilantes to clean up the streets for us. My own superiors have proposed that we do something about these vigilantes."

"Sir, with all do respect, only a handful of them deserve to be called Vigilantes."

"And your name for the others?"

Vivian takes one breath and looks to the side of the room at a picture of The Commissioner the day he was inducted. "Heroes," she says.

"I agree, Vivian. But the vigilante ones are the problem. You'll have to do something about them and there's a list of the rumored ones. Meanwhile, the crime rate isn't going down nearly enough. We need more cops out there to be ready for anything, not just the group that gets through the police academy...but specialists. That's where my superiors come in...they've recommended something to me and I happily agreed to do it. So as of today, the six of your are to be known as the Gotham City Secret Police. You'll be doing the things our boys out in the open can't do...covertly. You determine how you do things, we just tell you who needs taking down. No strings attached."

Vivian's face suddenly lights up in surprise. The last thing she expected was this. She'd more expected to be entirely dismissed. "Sir...a question. What can we do that normal police can't?"

"You lot are elite specialists in everything from combat and medical expertise to masters of stealth and disguise. I hand picked you because you were the top of the crop. The best officers Gotham and Bludhaven had to offer. And because I knew you'd all do a good job." The Commissioner then sits back down after putting his hands on Vivian's shoulders with a smile. "If any of you don't wish to take this on, then you may go ahead and leave. Those that stay will be heading down with me to see what we've prepared for you." When no one leaves, The Commissioner stands once more and approaches the door, opening it for them.

Each of the officers get up and step out. However, he stops Vivian at the door. "One more thing. Do your best to keep in contact with the Bat. We need to be sure."

"Affirmative," Vivian says. She then steps out and waits with the others for the Commissioner to take them to their destination.

"If I can't keep you from going out then I'll just have to keep an eye on you" Frank said talking with Grace. "Of course we'll have to come up with something to tell your mother."
"Already got that covered" grace said
"Sleeping over at a friends house to study everynight won't work" Frank said "after awhile she sususpect something."
"Like maybe I've got a boyfriend and am sneaking over to his house everynight" Grace said "Yeah, already thought of that and I'm okay with my mom thinking I'm sneaking out to be with a boy everynight."
"But I'm not" Frank said "we'll come up with something else but for now, you've got to get off to school."
"No school today" Grace smiled "Holiday."
"Right" Frank said "Well stay out of trouble today then."

Jack was sitting at the office going over some case files.

Delilah looked over the hit list smiling as she sat on her jet returning home. She looked up at her body guard standing in flight suit. "I see you're already set to get started."
"I am mistress. We should be closing in on the first target soon"
"Then by all means, kill him" Delilah smiled "but do it quickly and move on to the next, others will be after them soon."
"Yes mistress" Crimson Blade said standing at the door. "The League of Assassins shall prevail." He jumped out waiting till he was clear of the jet to activate his suit flying down to the country below him.

"So, we get a new case?" Frank asked walking over to his desk.

"No, just looking another case over for a friend, he needed a outside opinion." Jack said flipping through it. "Where you been all day?"

"I had some personal buisness to take care of" Frank said "What's the case?"

(when shall they find out one another alter personalities?)

(Hmm I dunno, maybe they both go after the same villain?)

"Just some drug case." Jack said. "Buddy has been having a hard time pinning down some drug dealers."

"Is it someone new?" Frank asked

(yeah, sounds good)

"Seems like it." Jack said.

"Well that's just peachy" Frank sighed "just what we need, anoter drug pusher."

"Wouldn't be Bludhaven without em." Jack sighed.

"Yeah" Frank sighed "so what kind of leads do we have on this guy?"

Derek closes his fist in frustration. Everytime he thinks there is something that's been overlooked then it all checks out instead. There's no trace. He stands up and leaves the café.

Lorelei sits in the bat-cave alone, reviewing the security footage again and again, trying to pick out if maybe Angelica was displaying any peculiar behavior. Nothing strange, however.

Derek picks up a paper that headlines about recent murders. He takes it with him.

Lorelei sits in the Bat Cave then and looks through various villain profiles. There must have been a missing link.

Derek sent a call to Lorelei. "...nothing?"

"What can I say that won't tick you off? She's either been kidnapped by a master or is really good at hide and seek."

(Hey, this could be a good motivation, Derek thinks that the League has something to do with her abduction?)

"Both are quite possible but I don't see why she'd suddenly decide to disappear."

(*shrugs* Take that one up with Pryde. It sounds like a good idea to me though)

"Then we're back to abduction."

"But everyone leaves a trace", Derek reasoned. "We need to find Paradox."

"And how do you propose we do that?"

"I'm going out tonight. I have his name and that must count for something."
