Gotham City- 2100

David spotted Frank and got to his feet, stunned by everything. He looked at the scene then caught his voice.

"Frank! Over here! Linda..."

Frank rushed over "What happened?"

"We went to approach the front door, Linda went on before me... I should've held her back with me but she was determined to get this over and done with, treating it as a simple domestic dispute. I froze though, I knew I'd seen the house before and I couldn't recall the circumstances, but Linda went to the gate and suddenly they came running out with their guns, and we rushed back to the car.

They stopped firing though when we got back here but Linda heard them going at one another and thought it was just the two men in the backyard. She told me to stand down and stay back, covering her in case they saw her again, but I noticed the curtain move in the upstairs window and I didn't stand a chance. One shot brilliantly aimed, and it just took her out. It was the start of the gun fire then, everyone started shooting one another and I just took shelter until I could make a move to bring Linda to safety. I knew... but a part of me wished otherwise...

But Frank... there was another person here... someone in black. Gave me the chance to grab Linda."

"Man in black" Frank said "I've heard of him, but all these guys are still breathing so it must be someone different."

"Don't let me anywhere near them, no disrespect for you or the police force, but my anger overrides the rules, sir. If I go anywhere near them, I'm likely to repay revenge..." David told him.

"If she doesn't make it you won't be the only cop out for blood" Frank said "the bus is on the way for her and back up is on the way. In the mean time let's start rounding these guys up."

"She's already gone sir," David replied, "Hasn't been any beat for ten minutes... I've kept trying resuscitation but it went straight through the heart. I guess that's why the ambulance isn't in such a great hurry..."

"Well then, I guess we'll have to try our hardest to restrain ourselves" frank said picking up a biker pulling his arm behind his back to cuff him almost pulling it out of the shoulder as he tightened the cuffs on a little too tight.

Several other police cars arrived with the ambulance who attended to Linda even checking her vital signs over. Most of the gang members were arrested but a few were treated for minor wounds, mostly knive wounds.

David stood watching as the zip went up over lindas head, putting a lot of blame on himself. He let his senior partner die but she was stubborn and told him to stay back. He also hated the fact that she was in too much of a hurry she didn't even consider putting on bulletproof vests. It was a miracle even he was alive.

He shrugged off any sympathetic hands on the shoulder just standin there watching the paramedics load her up. One of them climbed down and passed him her badges from her shirt.
"rather return these now to the station, be known to have missing possessions when the morgue gets them."

David nodded and gripped his hand around them tightly.

"Stop your complaining, you'll live" Frank said throwing one in the back of a wagon

Batman headed back to the cave.

"Eventful night," Bat-Girl says, sitting at the monitors.

"Indeed", Batman says and walks over to the monitors.

"So did you get any useful information?"

"Only about some new underground leader and sightings of... Bat-Woman."

Bat-Girl suddenly drops what she's doing and turns around. "Bat-Woman? Batman, do you think that might be?"
