Gotham City- 2100

She takes the picture and looks at it, her eyes glazed over. "Um...thank you."

Marko looked at her then walked past Angelica.

Angelica looked up to the sky to see the sunset then took to the rooftops as the commissioner rolled out to follow a lead about mysterious activity near an abandoned shell of a building.

Jack was getting a tour of the police station and shown to his desk.

The commissioner returns to the front desk again with a file on Thaddeus Talon AKA Automaton, having found Automaton's robotic body unresponsive in Arkham not long ago. "Would someone mind telling me how, in a cell over a mile underground, Talon managed to hop skip his mind out of that steel shell of his and into ANOTHER one?!"

Vivian aka Hush sat at her own desk, looking through files on Automaton the second the commissioner brought up the subject.

Frank looked up from his desk at Jack. "I'm guessing you're the replacement."

Jack looked down at Frank. "I guess so."

Courtney walked around the museum, watching kids purchase Batman backpacks and pencils, before being ushered out the gift store by their parents. Finally the last visitor left through the doors with their kids and she turned the sign around, locking the door.

"That was a long but good day. Reckon we smashed previous attendance records," she said to her security friend.
"Definitely... by a long shot. I'm going to start off at the back before finishing out here, want to check everything over with me?"
"Absolutely, I'll turn the lights to dim on the way."

Suddenly she heard a window break and jumped.
"I think its-"
"I think its-"
"I'll go that way, Pete...you head off to the left, I'm sure that's where the sound came from so you're tougher than me. It might've just been a bird though."

(we skipped to the next mornign mel.)

"Frank Vaughn" he said said standing to shake his hand.

(This is so that it can fit in with wherever you were at... but as its morning... I can go along with how I originally planned things...)

"Jack Carter." He said shaking his hand.

Courtney walked around the museum, with Pete her security friend. The sunlight streaming through the windows ready for a new day at the museum and she had an hour to make everything look lively ready for the 9am opening time.

She had to notice how eerie everything looked when the lights were on dim, they began to automatically turn off and then she was plunged into darkness but once she opened the blinds, there would be light again. Heading to the windows, she smiled as the light hit the glass cabinets lighting up the Batman replica costumes she had made.

But her foot crunched on glass and she headed towards its source- a broken window.

"Pete... can you call the police for me? Someone's broken in and they've stolen something from the weapons cabinet. I'm so disappointed... I was humming and hailing over getting an alarm placed on the actual cabinet. But why didn't the main alarm trip?"
"Nothing wrong with the main alarm... sure it wasn't a bird?"
"Even a bird would've set the alarm off... call the police?"
"Alright, I'll get right on it."

Courtney sighed as she bounced the radio walkie-talkie in her hand, looking about, before noticing a shadow and feeling something behind her.

"Hope you last longer than the last guy" Frank said

"Insurgents in the middle east didn't get me and neither did the warlords in Africa." Jack said. "Pretty sure some mob bosses will be a nice break."

Vivian laughs to herself at that remark. To simply call the criminals of Gotham mob bosses was almost an insult to them, one she was sure they'd take to heart if they heard it.

"Robbery at the museum," one of the junior constables called out.
"Which museum? The state?"
"No, not the new one. Gotham City Memorial Museum."
"What area?"
"The Heroes of Gotham exhibition..."
"The Batman?! Probably just kids..."
"They stole workable weapons."

"Bat museum huh?" Jack said. "Who they putting on it?"

"Don't know, not our district" Frank shrugged "It's a problem for GCPD."

Jack nodded and he sat down at his desk.

"You wanna get a look at the city?" Frank asked

"I grew up in Gotham so I know Bludhaven like the back of my palm." Jack said. "But yeah let's get outta here."

"Another local boy" Frank smiled grabbing his jacket

"Yeah." Jack said getting up, his leather jacket still on.

"So what made you wanna become a cop" Frank asked

Vivian leaves as well to go investigate activity near the abandoned museum on the edge of Gotham, hopping onto her motorcycle and driving off.

Over at Arkham the head psychiatrist, Ben is observing a former criminal with apparently no alias. he finishes up and grabs his coat o go and grab lunch.

Across the city, Cat-Woman sits on a rooftop, her legs crossed, watching the people go on about their boring daily routines.
