Gotham City- 2100

Angelica knocks on the door shortly before letting herself in, her camera around her neck. "Hey, Derek, got a minute?"

Derek looked up from his papers. "Oh, sure! Come on in!".

"You mind looking over a few of these pictures?" She says, having seen the art throughout the study. "You, uh, have a good eye."

He smiled a bit at her comment before nodding. "Alright, sure", Derek said standing up and walking over to her. "Been busy?"

Angelica cycles through numerous skyline photographs and landscape pictures of Gotham during the rare times that Gotham's beauty shines through even beyond the crime and pollution. She stops a picture before the last then takes the last and puts it in her pocket. "That's nothing. So what do you think?"

"I think you're very talented, Angelica. You've captured the good sides of Gotham perfectly!", Derek praised her looking at the pictures. "What was that last one?"

"Oh nothing, it didn't develop properly. I've been going over career options but for now I need money to get started. That's why I work at the diner. In the mean time, An artist should always work to perfect his or her craft, right?"

"Absolutely", Derek smiled. "I think that since you've obviously got talent you should go for it...", he said then began to smile loopsidedly. "Alright, how much do you need?"

Angelica hears the remark and cocks and eyebrow. "Beg Pardon?"

"Well, if you're serious about it then I'll help you", Derek said. "It's the least I could do"

"I don't know. The term 'hand-out' is coming across."

Jack pulled up the Police precinct and walked in. "Jack Carter, here for my first day."

"Ahh Det. Carter." The desk sergeant smiled a little. "The brass is glad you're here, guy with your background could really help us around here."

"Well that's what I'm here for." Jack smiled.

"I thought it might. That's why I was going to propose seeing it as an investement.", Derek said. "And I'm not giving you money just because. If you are serious about it, then it's a great profession."

"As long as I can pay you back then fine," Angelica says, "I don't exactly know about how much I'll need without looking at...my...log book." Angelica suddenly spawns an idea. "Though I will need some...equipment updates."

"Oh, for cameras and tri-pods- stuff like that", Derek asked. (He's so clueless)

Marko headed down the street.

(Ha yeah) "Yeah, this camera's pretty old, getting worn out. Tri-pods, stuff like that."


The commissioner sat in the police station looking through files on recently deceased criminals.

Derek nodded. "Yeah, that's important.", he said. "Anyway, yeah, I'll transfer a decent amount"

"Anyway I just wanted your opinion on that," she says. "I'll see you later."

On her way to the store to run a few errands, Angelica sees Lorelei facing off against two thugs who'd apparently tried to harm her friend. "You guys are punks! What, afraid to get your but kicked by a girl? Yet you attack a little boy? How much lower can you get?"

Angelica watches from a distance as both thugs lunge but Lorelei slides beneathe them swiftly, coming up behind them and spins, punching one into the other, causing them to fall like dominos. "Whoa, she's actually pretty good."

"Now, now boys, skip along and don't forget your tutus," she says as she hops over one then kicks him in the rear.

"Really good...and there's even witty banter thrown in there," Angelica laughs.

Derek transferred money to her account before finishing up on his paperwork, heading home.

Elsewhere in the city, before it's even gotten dark, Black Mask has several of his goons working around inside of an abandonded museum, renovating it for his 'big night'. Automaton orders several goons around and lifts a crate over his head. "That's it, put your back into it. The Boss wants it all done by the big day a month from now. No questions asked."

In the streets, Angelica accidentally bumps into another pedestrian, not noticing as the picture in her pocket of the legendary bat falls to the city sidewalk.

Marko stops as he sees a photo on the ground, picking it up.

Angelica continues along her errands.


The commissioner leaves the station and moves to the front desk to clear up some issues.

"Excuse me, miss", Marko says, coming up behind Angelica.

Angelica turns abruptly, shaken by his presence alone. "W-what? Oh I'm sorry. Is something wrong?"

"You dropped this", Marko said holding the photo out for her to take it, the blank side up.
