Shadow came into the main room sighing. "Why does everyone seem so down? We did just help take down a crazed clone of Superman."

Star-Girl plays ping pong with Robin whilst Mischief watches, hanging upside down from the ceiling light. "Who's down?" Star asks.

"I thought I was as up up up as it gets!" Mischief says, swinging on the light.

"Stop that," Robin says, scoring the winning point against Star-Girl. "Ha!"

"Oh, you SO cheated!"

"Boy Wonder for a reason, Glitter Girl. Maybe you can try wishing on one of those stars you make that you'll get better."

"My mistake" Shadow shrugged "so, back to things as usual then."

"Oh whatever," Star-Girl says, floating to the sofa and lying down, turning on the TV.

Robin leaves, grabbing his cape from the chair near the ping pong table and pressing a button on his belt, summoning his glider to him. "Goin' out. Don't wait up."

"So, looks like we lost a bird" Shadow said "and so far the only others I've seen are you and clown girl."

"I think I saw Martian Junior heading into the training facility. Ooo, boy, he sure does like to push Olympian's buttons, from the looks of things!", Logan exclaims before staring up at Mischief. "Why do you keep taking my spot?!"

"I was here fiiirst!" Mischief sings with a big grin.

"If he's bugging her, he must have a death wish," Star-Girl says.

Shadow dropped into the chair "Okay then, so what's going on."

"That's SO not fair!", Logan grumbles and crosses his arms, staring straight forward. "I think he just went in there to train, actually, but that girl is an extreme case, so who knows."

"Chillin' out. Maxin'. Relaxin'," Star-Girl says.

"I have the sudden urge to play basketball," Mischief says, swinging from the ceiling light.

"Cultural TV references goes over my head pretty easy.", Logan says. "Oh... right!"

"Don't worry green boy, I don't get half of the things those two say" Shadow said

Olympian stands in the training room, wiping her face with a towel. She throws it over her neck and steps on her shield, flipping it into her hand before walking off.


"We're girls. We're supposed to be mysterious creatures to you," Mischief teases.

"Ya could just ask." Star-Girl flips through channels, stopping at a jewelry commercial. "Please. I stole prettier rocks than that in my first year," she mumbles.

"I understand you" Shadow said "one of you has mental issues and the other likes shiney things. I don't get your refrences to ancient shows, movies and music."

"You keep thinkin' that, sport," Star says, flipping further through channels.

"Issues, Party Quirks. Tomato, Tomato," Mischief chimes, dropping from the ceiling light and landing on one hand then flipping onto her feet.

"See, mental issues" Shadow said motioning toward Mischief. "Would you just pick a channel already."

"I could." Star-Girl stops on cartoons. "Satisfied?"

"It's better than nothing" Shadow shrugged

"Ah, whatever.", Logan says and walks off to check on the training room.

"That went as well as I'd thought...", Bastion says, breathing hard at the end of the room, slumped down against a wall.

Logan moves out of the way as Olympian walks past him through the exit then looks over at Bastion. "Oh my god!", he cracks up. "Did you seriously challenge her? You, sir, are an airhead!"

"Anyone else notice that the 'mentors' aren't around" Shadow said "I'm guessing that happens often."

"Yuuup!" Mischief chimes.

"They're grown. They got lives. Far be it for me to get in the way," Star says, lying down across the sofa.

"Well, guess that means I'm in charge then" Shadow said "as the oldest here I mean and I think we should be out there trying to find the fire guy and maybe trying to see what's up with our mentors."

"Was that in the rulebook?" Mischief asks.

"Who cares? I'm more bothered by how he knows the mentors need our help?" Star says, her eyes closed.

"I'm surprised you aren't worried about them" Shadow said

"Should I be? They're the ones teaching us. I imagine they can handle themselves okay," Star says.
