Derek slept for a while until he suddenly woke up, breathing rather heavily. He sits up in his bed and lets out a deep sigh. "Bad dreams"

Lorelei had returned not long before, having fallen asleep herself, sitting on the sofa, watching TV.

Derek notices her on the couch and walks past her to put some coffee on before taking a shower to get ready for the meeting tonight.

Lorelei awakens when not long after an sees Derek walking around in a suit, preparing to leave. "Where are you going?"

"Wayne Industries. I got a reminder last night so I wouldn't forget to attend. Do you have any plans set?"

"No, none," Lorie says rather groggily.

"Are you alright", Derek asks.

"Just woke up...what time is it?"

"A little past six."

"ll right," Lorie says, getting up and stretching. "You spoken with Angie since the other night?"

"No, I haven't. And I don't imagine she wants to talk to me."

"Right...so this function you're going to...a Wayne International event? I guess I'll keep an eye out down there."

"That'd be appreciated.", Derek says and heads for the door.

Lorelei then walks off to the cave to suit up.

As Derek heads out he gives Angelica a call. "Hey, it's me."

Angelica floats in the sky over the city and suddenly hears the ringing of her phone, answering it. "Hello? Oh. What's the problem, Derek?"

"I just wanted to apologise for what I said."

"Don't worry about it, Derek. It's not your fault," Angelica says, glancing up and suddenly flying straight up to avoid being hit by a jet. "What in...I'll call you back," she says, flying after the racing plane.

Derek sighs and puts his phone away, hurrying off to the event.

The event is a rather large Gala. Various wealthy figures from actors and actresses to philanthropists attend. Among them are Brass Williams, Bridget Sky, and so many more. "Leave it to Wayne to throw a party like this and not show up," Brass says to Snow.

"He certainly has his way of showing the people that he cares."

Meanwhile, Bridget stands, arm and arm with her boyfriend and converses with various other high class figures.

"These are not just coincidences Frank, they're connected. I did some digging on the companies being bought out and the wars over seas Wayne International, LexCorp and Queen Industries all stand to gain alot from thier recent purchases. And Markovia and Khandaq, if they manage to win thier wars, will become instant world powers. We need to find the ones in charge and stop this before it gets worse. Hawk and Dove have already agreed to help, maybe you could get some of the heroes in your part of the country to join us?"
"I'll try" Frank said "but you're the only other hero I know Claire, aside from Grace and she's too young to be part of this. I don't have the same kind of relationship with any of the ones around here that I do with you."
"As long as you try" Claire said "that's all I asked, even if you don't I think the four of us could manage it."

Derek walks past the crowd and takes a glass of champagne from one of the trays while passing by. He took his time to take in his surroundings before heading to meet Brass and Snow.

"Ah. There he is. I figured since all the rich kids were coming, you'd be here somewhere," Brass says, sipping her glass of wine.

"Hello, Mr. Wilson," Snow says with a formal bow and a small voice.

"Well, I had to see what all the fuzz was about, Brass. And Snow, Derek is fine.", he says and takes a look around. "You seem on edge, Brass. Maybe you would like a massage?", he asks with a more or less casual tone, although obviously teasing.

"I'll do the wisecracks. You stick to the brooding," Brass jokes.
