Justice League

"Good work." Superman said. "You did some damage to the Atlanteans and drew out Batman's replacement."

"I aim to please," Deadeye says, placing her bow on her back. "And I don't miss."

"Neither did he." Superman said looking at her arm.

"He's Batman. He can't afford to. Hate him as I may, ya just gotta respect the guy," she says, working out her arm. "Though he did underestimate me. I'm a lot more than toys and an eight foot robot. And today he learned that. I'd say today went well."

Robin stands in the doorway and clears his throat. "Uh...Superman? I have that list of Arkham and Blackgate inmates you wanted for recruitment."

Superman looked over. "Good then bring it to me."

"Right," Robin says, eying Deadeye as he hands Superman the list.

"So you actually managed to get the Boy Wonder? Wow, Supes, you ARE persuasive."

"Superman, that list is full of some of the worst psychopaths in Gotham...GOTHAM. Are you sure about this?"

"They disobey me, they die." Superman said taking the list. "I'm quite sure."

Angelica finds Derek. "Hey, D...you okay? Better, at least?"


Khiva leads Batman to the healer's quarters, finding a white haired Atlantean woman facing off against Morningstar. She stands with a dual-sided spear and is very formally dressed, standing over the dead body of the healer. She sees Orin being carried by Batman. "As expected, Orin's rashness has gotten the better of him, no?"

"I'd have to agree," Black Manta says, standing at her side.


Robin glances down. Deadeye walks around Superman and to Robin. "Well, this job certainly has its perks," she says before walking out, past him.

Robin glares at her over his shoulder, then leaves.

"As good as this situation allows.", Derek says with his back turned to her, taking something down on the screen before she can catch it.

"We'll get her back, Derek. We'll get her back, we'll stop Superman, we'll get you all fixed up, and then maybe we'll retire and live off the royalties from the vids," she says, nudging him.

"I sincerely doubt there's any way we'll get to retire in the near future. Unless it's like this.", Derek says and gestures to his wheelchair. "It is a nice thought, though."

"Oh, can I go recruiting" Combustion asked enthusiasictally "Gotham sounds like a fun place."

"No." Superman said. "You have a more important mission. Destroy STAR Labs headquarters."

Batman looked at Black Manta. "Well I guess I get to beat you both up as well." He said setting Orin down gently.

"If I may," Luthor cuts in, walking into the room. "Might I suggest you send the Hawk and Silverback with him? In case any of your 'heroic' brethren show up."


"Land Walker, we need to get King Orin to a healer," Khiva says.

"Batman, I can extract you guys," Zita says, telepathically.


"Debbie downer," Angelica says to Derek under her breath, walking off.

Batman narrowed his eyes, he didn't like running away. "Do it." He said.

Superman looked at Luthor. "Did you really think I'd send a kid alone?"

"That kid is a highly trained assassin" 8Ball said "He could take out Starlabs on his own, sending Hawk would be insurance that he doesn't go too far off plan. As for the talking gorrilla, didn't he return home to 'let the hairless ones' take out themselves?"

"You don't need the ape" Ravager said stepping into the light "I'll go with them."

"Buckle up, boys and girls. Keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times!" Zita says, teleporting the Atlanteans, Batman, and Morningstar back to the bunker.


"Of course not, my alien friend," Luthor says. "Just a personal suggestion of who specifically you might consider. Hawk and Ravager will be just fine."

Batman carried Orin into the med bay.

Superman crossed his arms. "Well, I'll take volunteers. A nice show of force could do wonders."

"Bat-Girl I need to speak with you about your sister's medication." Doctor Mid-Nite stands in the med bay and takes note of the entry.  He'd been speaking with Angelica over the monitor, when Batman enters with Aquaman.  "Get him to the tank.  I'll see that he's restored."

Bat-Girl watches over the monitor.  "I'm calling another war room meeting for all key Justice League and Justice Society members," she says.  "I'm ready to kick the enemy in the balls first, for a change."  Then she disconnects.

"What's the plan" 8ball asked Supers

Cumbustion took off with Ravager and Hawk for Arkham.

"This new Batman is a threat." Superman said. "8Ball, I want you to test him."

Batman took Orin to a recovery pod before heading to the war room.

"All right.  It's high time we kicked back, for a change," Bat-Girl says.

"Agreed," Wonder Woman says.  "And we couldn't have asked for a better time to hold this meeting.  Intelligence says Superman is getting ready to make a move."

"Green Lantern relayed plans for an assault on STAR Labs," Doctor Mid-Nite says from the monitor room.  "Hawk will be there, and I'm sure hell have backup. I'd advise sending Dove.  No one knows him better.  She can take the Titans as backup."

"Dove, that is your decision," Wonder Woman says.

"Also, Superman has mobilized a few people to try and weed us out.  But don't worry.  That won't be happening," Bat-Girl says, pulling up images of Deathstroke and Cat-Woman.  "She's a friend and he's working this one for free, this time.  Apparently Superman sent Centurion after us and Deathstroke is none too happy about that.  And Cat-Woman isn't exactly best buds with Nightstalker."

"We have another problem.  Storage," Zita says.  "We're running out of places to put these crooks."

"I move we store them in the phantom zone," Wonder Woman says.  "Only temporarily, of course."

"That'd be great if we had a phantom zone projector," Zita says.

"I know where we can get one," Bat-Girl says, projecting an image of Superman's fortress.  "There's one in there.  But it'll be we guarded.  Captain Atom, you take Mary Marvel and head in to find and extract it."

"I can lead the kids there, but I don't know what good I'll do against Hawk." Dove said "He might be a lost cause though."

"He's not what I expected" 8ball said. I'll do what I can but I'm not sure what it will accomplish. What should my endgame be?"


"Are we there yet?" Cumbustion asked ipatiently.
"Soon enugh firebug" Hawk said "don't blow anything up till we get there. And no needless killing."
"I never kill needlessly" Cumbustion said becoming serious "Killing is a bore unless done on a grand scale."

Batman thought for a second. "I'll go to the Fortress with Captain Atom and Mary Marvel."

Superman looked at 8Ball. "Do what we do to all of our enemies."

"Even if he is a lost cause, you know how he fights," Doctor Mid-Nite says.

"All right," Bat-Girl says. "But please, for the love of god, Batman. Be careful."

"All of this still leaves one immediate problem. The machine," Wonder Woman says. "If it manages to track us, we're through."

"Which is a problem.  Adaptroid is virtually infallible.  Everything we've tried, he's adapted to.  I figured out a way to hack him but the second he detects the attempt, he'll start trying to adapt.  If I slip up even once, he'll pull a hard reset.  Which would be worse than if I was just too slow.  Whatever reprogramming Lorie did would be undone.  He'd become psychotic again.  Luckily, what I have in mind is a sure thing.  The problem is that I'm not fast enough.  He'll adapt long before I can finish hacking him."

"Then it sounds like we need speed," Wonder Woman says.
