Justice League

"Then what the hell do you need with enthusiasm?" GL says. "Just point me at the crooks so I can haul 'em in."

Captain Marvel manages to get the bandage off and looks between the two.

"Enthusiasm, desire, proper motivation. Call it what you will but I need people with the resolve to pull the trigger. Not haul them in." Superman said. "Those days are over, criminals these days get put down." He looked her up and down. "There's a robbery in progress in Central City, kill the bank robbers and you're in."

GL glares are Superman, then turns and flies up into the air before taking off at warp flight to Central City. Captain Marvel watches her leave, then turns back to Superman. "So...I guess I'm with her, then. Later." Then he flies off. "So what's the plan?"

"We do what he asked," GL says. She arrives at the scene, floating down and whistling loudly. "I'm gonna give you ten seconds to get out here. If I have to go in there, it's gonna go from quick and painless, to feeling every waking moment," GL calls out to the robbers.

Captain Marvel lands beside her, his arms crossed. "I'd do what she says."

The robbers looked outside. "It ain't superman."

"Means they ain't gonna kill no body." The leader said. He walked to the door. "We got hostages! BACK OFF!"

"Captain?" GL says.

Captain Marvel nods and races around the bank, relieving the robbers of their weapons at superhuman speeds. "I'm the magic Superman, remember?"

Lantern then extends her hand and a series of tendrils expand from the ring ensnaring hostages in personal protective fields, and moving them outside. Then she floats, quietly, inside. She traps every crook in one large energy ring and Captain Marvel lifts them over his head, along with a chunk of the floor. "Go ahead."

"SHAZAM!"

The bolt of lightning strikes down on top of the party of crooks. When the blast clears, Captain Marvel walks out of the smoke. dusting off. "Quick and clean. Figure he'll like that?"

"I dunno. Less collateral damage, the better?"

"Yeah, I guess."

Superman floated high above watching them.

GL's ring alerts her to his presence and the two of them fly up to him. "You happy now, or do I have to bring down a building on an embezzler's head, too?" she asks.

"It's a start." Superman said. "For now, Central City is under your jurisdiction Lantern. Captain Marvel, you're with me. We're going to continue enlisting."

"The whole planet's under my jurisdiction. Heck, the whole space sector is. But I get it. Whatever you say," she says before flying off.

"Sure thing, Supes. So, uh...where to, next?"

Superman looked to Captain Marvel. "Gotham, without Batman I'm sure the people there would welcome a new hero."

"Following your lead," Captain Marvel says, with a nod.


Back at the bunker, Zita Zatara is just pulling the crooks out of a pocket dimension. "Oh, quit whining. They weren't gonna let you croak. Just had to convince Mr. Muscles."

"Zita," Bat-Girl says, walking into the incarceration room.

"World's greatest sorceress, Zita Zatara, at your service."

"Oh, good. You got them. See that they get to a cell."

"Sure thing, Angie."

"And don't call me that," Bat-Girl says, leaving the room to go and check on Dr. Mid-Nite.

Superman landed on a rooftop. "Clean this city up for me, kid." Superman said flying up. "I'll be watching." He said before taking off.

Captain Marvel looks around. "Wait...why couldn't I just stay in Fawcett?" he asks himself, before landing on a rooftop. "This places is already crawling with-"

A sword sticks in the wall beside him. "I suggest you leave," Kasumi says, walking by him and pulling the blade out of the brick.

"You're threatening me with a sword? Does no one get the whole concept of 'Captain Marvel' anymore?"

"A sword that can cut you as well as any other, man-child. Now leave. Gotham is mine, and no place for a golden boy."

"What if I'm not so 'golden' anymore?"

Kasumi turns and looks at him with an arched eyebrow. "Really? Just go back to Fawcett where you can stop bullies from taking lunch money." Then she turns and starts to leave.

Sam's craft floated in front of Superman.

"You have 10 seconds to leave." Superman said casually to Sam. "Or I blow that thing out of the sky."

"You have proven to be unstoppable. The world's greatest detective and tactical mind couldn't stop you. The strongest, aside from you, the world has could not stop you. Anyone with half a mind would be a fool to try to stop you. I have more than half a mind so for someone like me to try to stop you would be more than foolish, it would be idiotic and suicidal. I am here to offer my assisstance. You can surround yourself with others like you, superpowered individuals that share your ideals but you need someone more like Batman as well, someone the normal that can appeal to the common citizen and assure them you have their best interest in mind. My name by the way, is 8Ball and I am the smartest man in the world."

Superman thought for a second. "Prove to me your loyalty and your effectiveness. I want you to take down the remaining Bats. Nightwing and Bat-Girl are your primary targets, they could rally people to a cause...possibly moreso than Batman could."

"Not exactly the best use of my skills but who am I to argue with Superman."

"Think of this as an audition." Superman said.

"Yes sir. Consider the Bat problem solved."

"Good." Superman said.

Zita pulls a few more of Green Lantern's "victims" into the bunker, throwing them into cells. "You know, this is a pretty slick operation. Maybe we should consider doing this even after Muscle Man is done being all psychotic," she says.

"I've been tempted before," Wonder Woman says, watching as a couple of common crooks are escorted to cells.

8ball speeds off for Gotham to deal with the Bats

"I am thoroughly impressed with this idea. However, while the risk is low, there's a probability that Superman will find out eventually, if he already suspects something, which is likely.", Red Tornado says and takes a moment to let them stare at him. "...In other words, things are going smoothly."

Lorie appears at Superman's base, still hitching a ride on Adaptroid's shoulders. "And here we are. Adaptroid, locate Superman."
