DC Universe- 2100

Superman looked over at the alien. "We're getting out of here, even if I have to tear this place apart brick by brick."

"Good luck. Last time Superman was here, he made a real fool outta Mongul. The place's beefed up since then. By the way, the name's S'khiv. Your main deal's gonna be gettin' through that barrier. You aren't the original Superman, are ya? Even he couldn't get through it all them years ago."

"Perhaps there's a way to to this a little more...quietly, then," Angelica says to herself.

"I might have a plan," Metamorpho speaks up.

Superman looked at Metamorpho. "What is it?"

Metamorpho gets up.  "If we can get Mongul to put me in a fight, I can 'lose' and when they think I'm dead, I can slip out and contact your 'Justice League'."

"Even Superman?", Manhunter says questionably and then remains silent for a brief moment, closing his eyes. "I cannot reach any of the others with my telepathy. That means... They're out of Earth's range."

"Then...then what are we gonna do?" Star-Girl asks as she looks back at the monitor.

Superman thought for a moment. "It may work, it's a long shot though."

"We have to prepare for incoming, most likely. The Watchtower is now in a fragile state.", Manhunter says.

"You will have to battle one of us, then. Anyone else might succeed in killing you," Wonder Woman says.

"Something tells me Superman would be more than happy to hit me," Metamorpho says. "I got him into this mess...I probably deserve it."


"Well...I can still reach all the Gotham Crew and most of our Titans trustees. Hawk, Dove, Super-Girl. Looks like whatever happened, only the big guns got taken up. If you ask me, you should keep an eye out. I mean you can go toe to toe with Superman. I'll see if I can contact Flash and warn him. Whatever's goin' on, I don't like where it's goin," Star-Girl responds.

"Don't worry, I'll pull my punches if I get my strength back." Superman said.

"Nor do I.", Manhunter says. "We have to look for the others yet can't leave our guard. Has Batman spoken to you?"

"He called askin' for GL a little while ago, but that was it. Looks like he's okay. I'm betting they don't think he's nearly as much of a threat as most of the heavy hitters if this is an abduction deal. I'll see about calling him, but I think he's busy preparing that whole Young Justice thing."

"I think that'll have to wait for now, no matter how wrapped up he is in planning that out.", Manhunter says.

"I didn't say it couldn't wait," she says as she raises Batman. "Batman, it's Star-Girl and Martian Manhunter. I think we're in the middle of a Justice League cri-...emergency." Best to not make the situation worse with that word.

He takes everything way too seriously, so I don't think it actually matters.

"What makes you believe we have an emergency.", Batman asks over the com as he stops playing around with the RPM on one of the droids.

"Well, roughly half the Justice League is missing," Star says. "No responses to any of the Coms and all out of telepathic range. There were a few emergency alerts then they all went dark."

"What?", Batman says and then attempts to contact any of the others. He got back on with Star. "Even Superman... and Angelica.", he sighs. "Listen, Star, if League members are disappearing then chances are that the Watchtower might be targeted next. Activate Red Alert and raise defenses. I need to know if any other unusual things have occured at the respective members' cities."

"Well, Flash is still in com range but he isn't answering," Star responds. "Wait, something's happening near you in Gotham. Museum robbery, seems like."

"It's always a museum robbery. Do you know where Flash is heading?", Batman asks as he heads for the Bat-Wing.

"Yeah, what is it with Gotham and Museums?" Star tries to track Flash. "Uh...he's goin' pretty fast, Batman. Keystone...Central...Keystone. Martian Manhunter and me can go check with him if you'd rather deal with that heist."

"Sorry guys, crime has gone through the roof with the other's vanishing, trying to maintain some order over here." The Flash said over the comms.

Nightwing was overlooking the museum preparing to head in and stop the crime.

Cat-Woman opens a display case with her claws and swaps out the crystal inside for a duplicate. She drops it into her pouch and turns to leave.


"Just be on the lookout. If anyone's after you too, we're in biiig trouble," Star says.

Nightwing was standing behind her. "Put it back."

Great job, Kitty.  Go through all that trouble to set off the alarm intentionally and the Bat can't even be bothered turning up...

"You're...one of the birds," she says as she looks to him over her shoulder.  "Darkwing or something, right?  No, that's a cartoon, isn't it?"

Nightwing nodded. "Yep, Darkwing Duck, now that's a solid reference Ms. Litterbox." He said. "So put it back and we both walk away without having a stressful night."
