"I'm sorry Jess" Frank said handing them to her

"Wait... you're serious?! Well, how did it happen? Where is she? Shouldn't I officially say its her at some morgue?" Jess asked.

"Yes, that's why I'm here" Frank said "I'll take you to see her and tell you what happened on the way."

"Don't worry. We'll find Angelica, no doubt about it," Lorie says.


In Bludhaven, Mischief sits alone in a warehouse, surrounded by unconscious goons. She leans against one column and looks down at the leader who cries at her feet, begging for her to put him out of his misery. However, she merely laughs and walks away, leaving him to his pain. She drives off into Bludhaven later on her motorcycle.

The phone rang and Jess answered it on the portable phone, "Aunty Helen, hold your horses. Yes, I have just heard, I've got a policeman with me. Hey, don't use that language, its not their fault. Shot? Well, how do you know?"

At the reply she turned on the television and then shook her head, "Blast Channel 17! They have the worst reputation... by law you're not allowed to state names! What do you mean... you and Uncle Phil? Well, I was just asked myself if I wanted to go. Oh, Aunt Helen its not that bad! I saw Grandpa George! Fine...fine...fine. What?!"

Jess paced the spot agitated, "Well, I only just found out she's dead, I don't know know when it will be. The coroner will have to sign her release and then I expect she'll be given a proper police funeral, having been killed while working. Aunty HELEN... I HAVE A COP RIGHT HERE AND IF YOU DON'T HUSH I'LL PUT HIM RIGHT ON AND YOU CAN THREATEN AND CALL NAMES TO HIM ALL YOU LIKE. Mind you... it'll get you a fine."

The phone hanged up and Jess looked at Frank, "So shot huh? Did she at least kill them first?"

"If you don't mind, Angelica, I'm going to stay up and do some research as well"

"Good luck with that," Lorelei says. "I'm going to go get some rest."

"You've earned it, Lorelei. Sleep well", Derek tells her with a smile.

"I could just as easily say the same to you...but I know better. Just don't overwork yourself," Lorie says, stepping into the elevator and going on up.

Frank sighed "Who ever told them about this didn't have the full story. They're making it sound like she went searching for this."

"I won't promise anything", Derek murmurs before spending most of the night going through old articles.

"Seriously" Red Hawk growls chasing after a man in purple. "I was about to break the reacord, they couldn't have waited till after the game to try and kill that guy. When we catch him, something is going to get broken."
"Calm down Will" Blue Dove said running beside him "You're just making yourself upset."
"Hey, I do my best work when I'm pissed" Hawk smiled diving and tackling the guy jumping back to his feet. "If you're smart you'll stay down but I'm hoping your not cause I wanna hit something."
"Look out" Dove shouted as the guy rolled over firing a shot at Hawk knocking him back.
She flew into the guy as he got back to his feet knocking him back.
"Out of the way Blue, I'm going to rip his spine out" Hawk said walking towards them.
"You don't want to do that Red" Dove said trying to keep her partner from going overboard "you're not a killer."
"The hell I am" Hawk said ignoring her and pickign the guy up slamming him hard against a wall "We're avatars of Chaos and Order. You're order, I'm chaos and I believe as part of my duties to maintain the balance between the two this guy needs to die."
Hawk squeezed the guys neck chocking him.
"William, stop" Dove said placing a hand on his arm. "Please, for me."
Hawk looked down at her and sighed losening his grip. "Fine, but I'm still breaking something."
He set him down before kicking his leg breaking it and started walking back to the field as police ran towards them.

"Get down" Amazon shouted putting up an energy sheild blocking the projectiles. "Get the ambassador out of here, I'll handle this."
The guards nodded leading the amassador away as Amazon flew towards the attacker punching him down to the street. She came down barely missing him as he quickly got to his feet firing several shots at her. She deflected them with her energy shield and took off after him as he ran

"I'm sorry Frank, that's why most of you call 'us' parasites," Jess replied, "I want to be different. Report real facts."

"Then do that for your mother" Frank said heading to the morgue with her. "The facts are, your mother went out to handle a domestic dispute call with her partner. When they arrived what should have been a simple situation turned out to be what appears to be a turf war between gangs and they got caugt in the middle of it. Your mother was hit and her partner was unable to get to her. She died on scene."

"The partner being little David Campbell... she didn't have belief in him, so she would've put herself out there as a protector of him."

Jess's strong composure though shattered when she reached the doors of the hospital, "I don't think I can do this, maybe I should just leave it to my aunt?"

"I'm right here with you" Frank said comforting her.

Mischief steps on the now broken knee of an assassin. "Now, why would you want to go and do that? Trying to kill some random company head like that...I'm beginning to think you WANTED to draw attention to yourself." She adds pressure to the broken knee, pressing down her foot on it, causing him to groan in pain. "I'm sure I know enough to determine that you're a professional, right? Who sent you? C'mon, who done it?" Tell me and I'll ease up. When the assassin refuses, Mischief sighs. "All right, fine." She extends her hand to help him up. However, the instant their hands meet, he is electrocuted to a point of being near death. "My own special brand of open arms SHOCK therapy. So...care to try this again?"

"You again" Nightlight said landing behind her "Who are you picking on this time, an ex boyfriend?"

"You better be," Jess said angrily as she spotted her aunt talking to the media. And she moved to stand directly infront of the camera and he went to turn it off, "Can't have some daughter popping up right in front of the cameras?"

"I'm just doing my job, Jessica!"
"It's Jess or Jessie, mate. Don't talk as if you know me."

The reporter shook his head as he placed the camera down on the floor and went to dismantle the tripod, "I just wanted to know how you're feeling at such a tragic time. It makes for prime time viewing."
"I'll make for perfect news viewing too- girl who smashes camera!" as the reporter realised her words, he almost wailed as her foot came down on the camera hard, "Oops tell Channel 17, my condolences in return."

"Oh, you're that Nightlight, chick, from before, right? Isn't it a little past your bedtime?" Mischief said, hoisting up the assassin by his collar.

"Isn't the circus missing a clone" Nightlight said "Banter aside, who is your latest victim?"


Frank sighed shaking his head.

"I want to go in alone, Frank. Could you do your best tough cop look and prevent any one else from annoying the crap out of me by keeping guard?"

"Don't worry" Frank said

"I don't know," Mischief says, holding the Shock Buzzer in her hand just under an inch from the face of her 'victim'. "But I think I'll be finding out soon. Ready to talk?"
