Aviary sat in the middle of the training room, several machines crushed all around her. She'd been getting better.

Eve took his hand and stood up, climbing back up the rocks. "Thank you, Rex." She smiled to him.

"Don't mention it" Rex smiled back up at her.

Eve walked inside ahead of Rex and sat at the kitchen counter.

Rex walked in going over to the fridge "What do you want to eat?"

Eve shrugged her bony shoulders lightly. "A carrot." She said quaintly.

Rex looked back at her "You should eat more than just a carrot. I'll make you a sandwich."

"Okay." Eve said lightly. "But don't put any meat in it."

"I think I can do that" Rex said making them some sandwiches. "Here you go, no meat."

Dragonfly looks up at the ceiling before making his way outside. "Okay, is it me or is the ceiling making a thumping sound? What's going on up there?"

Eve looked at Dragonfly and shrugged. "I don't know. Rose is up there with that obnoxious boy." She said quietly, then looked to Rex.

Rex sighed shaking his head "No respect for the rest of us."

"Well they're the two most crude people I know, I must say." Eve said, looking up toward the banging sound.

"I need some silence" Rex said "Think I'm going into the city, anyone wanna join me?"

"I will." Eve said, eager to leave the Tower.

"I'd like to go, too." Infared said, coming in. "I mean, as long as I'm not a third wheel."

"Oh, we are not together." Eve said, sticking to the predetermined story. "You are welcome to come."

"I don't mind at all" Rex said "besides, this will give me a chance to work on my social skills"

Eve smiled. "Good. I will go put on some clothes. It is better that I do not go into the city in my bathing suit." She walked upstairs.

Infared knocked some water out of his ear and slipped on the shirt that was slung over his shoulder. "Cute girl." He smiled.

"I guess" Rex shrugged "So, you're Nightwings sidekick?"

"Yeah, I am." Infared said, sitting down on a stool. "Well, more like a student than a side kick. I'm just trying to learn from him."

"Not sure how much you'll learn from him."

"What are you trying to say?" Infared asked.

Rose slipped her shirt back on and stood up, pulling on her panties. "Yup, you'll be a good teammate." She smiled, sticking a cigarette in her mouth, then gesturing it to Combustion, asking to light it.

"Oh yeah" Combustion smiled lighting it for her.


"Just that I'm not sure how much he can teach you" Rex said

Rose puffed out some smoke and sat on the floor of his room. "You from around here, kid?"

"He's a master in acrobatics and hand-to-hand, which is what I need. I have my abilities pegged down." Infared claimed.

"Not a kid" Caleb said "and no, I'm not from around here"

"Then he's perfect for you" Rex said looking past him at Eve as she came back down "Sounds like they've stopped."
