Precursors

"Who said anythign about going after the one's ahead of us" Aetos said "I'm only concerned about the one's flanking us."

"Another bad idea..." Frank said sighing. "Jesus Christ two can fight but you don't know shit about fighting a battle against unconventional forces."

"They use children as bombs and women as shields" Aetos said "They prefer to attack from cover and use traps like that pitfall one back there. You told us there are 60 men coming from our flank with AK's and two dozen more digging in ahead of us. We can take out the one's coming at our sides now then head back to the camp and wait on the others to come for us, which they probably will and finish them off in the mornign. Not exactly what is so unconventional about the way they're fighting now, it's not any different from the way our ancestors fought."

Frank shook his head. "Why do you think they're digging in over there? It ain't to wait they'll cut us down when we attack the ones on our flank."

(Wait, thought he was refering to soem farther ahead no close enough to attack)

(He's refering to the ones that started attacking before, they retreated when Alexis and Frank came in firing and attacking, now they've dug in)

(oh, alright)

"Seems to me that if those guys digging in over there were smart they'd just kill us all now while were standing here talking" Aetos shrugged before turning to the ones digging in and opening fire on them.

Frank rolled his eyes firing as he wat being shot at and he contacted William and Robert. "Spartis aren't pulling back, move up and help us..." He said before taking cover to reload.

William sighed heading up

Aetos smiled firing on the vc

"Fucking idiots." Frank said firing trying to pin down the overwhelming force of Viet Cong.

"We're gonna be over run." Robert sighed moving up. He stopped and knelt down pulling his radio out.

William came up firig on them. "Bloddy idiots"

Robert was calling in close air support.

Frank slung his rifle away to conserve his ammunition and he picked up a AK-47 using it against the Viet Cong.

William tossed a grenade into the group digging in.

Robert moved up. "Well since we're gonna be over run, close air support is on it's way. That's one of our air strikes used...already."

"Call them off" Aetos said "We will be fine without it"

"Uh no...we won't." Robert said. "We have no idea if anymore Viet Cong are moving through this area." He said.

"Get over it Aetos, you got your dumb ass stand here so be happy." Frank said firing.

Aetos just shrugged firing

Two F-4 Phantom II fighters were heading towards them to launch their napalm strike.

Frank was pulling back a little as to be out of the blast range.

Aetos and Alexis stood thier ground firing on the VC.

The two F-4 Phantom IIs flew over head dropping their playloads and incinerating the VC forces in napalm.

Aetos stood watching

Frank looked at Aetos. "Next time you wanna be Mr. Supersoldier or compromise the mission, I'll shoot you myself." He said before walking off to collect his claymores.

Robert sighed cleaning his aviators.

"What'd you expect, you asked for our help and this is what we do." Aetos said "And my understanding of the mission is we're to find this base with some weapon ."

Robert looked at Aetos. "Fighting like this is stupid, we're trying to find this base without making our presence well known."

"That's impossible to do" Aetos said "We got lucky with the camp, they would've caught on to our presence before we got close to the base. All it would take is one of us to mistep and we'd be in on of ther traps. Staked at the bottom of a pit, hanging from a tree, or whatever kind of traps they've come up with. This fight here has not only thinned out the ranks of those attacking the regulars but sent them a message- Get in our way and you'll be stepping stones beneath our feet."
