Precursors

1964, Somewhere over Vietnam

Some folks are born made to wave the flag, Ooh, they're red, white, and blue... Came through the radio, blasting at maximum volume so as to be heard over the loud engine and rotors on the UH-1 Iroquois "Huey" Helicopter.

Frank Miller sat back wearing black aviators and he lit a cigar, he was one of the few Americans in Vietnam at the time. A US Marine in the Force Recon he was technically there as a military advisor but the truth was he in country to perfrom black operations for the US Government in preperation fo the arrival of the US Military. He had just gotten orders to pull out of the jungle and he was headed to Hawaii. To Pearl Harbor. He smiled sitting back nodding to the music holding his CAR-15 rifle in his lap and enjoying his cigar.


Two days later, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Frank was walking down a hallway in a large building, Swift Industries. A team was being put together.

Harvey sat in a room by a round shaped table, his hands folded together as he waits for everyone else to arrive.

Frank walked down the hall and opened the door to room walking inside. He nodded at Harvey and walked over extending his hand. "Frank Miller, I'm you're liason to the US Military."

Harvey nodded to him and shook Frank's hand as he stood to greet him. "Nice to meet you Frank, though I was hoping for someone more slim and built like a woman." Harvey jokes to him, "Please, take a seat."

(And so history begins)

Frank shook his hand and chuckled. "So was I." He said sitting down.

Elizabeth walked into the room and over to the table. "You wanted to see me sir?" She asked.

Frank looked back at her, looking her over.

"Ah yes," Harvey says to her as he sits back down, "I wanted you to meet our liason for the U.S. Army, Frank Miller. Mr. Miller, this is one of my top workers here at Swift Industries, Elizabeth O'Donnell. You might be seeing one another a lot."

Elizabeth looked at Frank and extended her hand. "Hello Mr. Miller."

Frank stood up and shook her hand. "A pleasure ma'am." He said smiling a little.

Elizabeth looked back to Harvey. "We need a new test pilot for the Prime Suit, we've got a few more tests to run but Roger just came down with the flu."

"Roger is always coming down with something," Harvey says as he rolls his eyes, "Whose next on the list?"

"Roger was the next on the list...the list is finished now. We need a pilot now, we didn't get many volunteers from the military due to the secrecy of the project." Elizabeth said.

"I'll volunteer," Hank says, overhearing the discussion as he enters the room with Mary following in from behind.

"Frank, Hank Harris and Mary Banes, Hank and Mary, Frank Miller," Harvey introduces them, getting that out of the way, "You sure about it Hank?"

"If I wasn't I wouldn't be volunteering." Hank tells him.

"Smart mouth," Harvey mumbles to himself, "Alright, Hank will test out the Prime Suit."

Frank sat back listening.

Elizabeth looked at Hank then nodded. "Alright, be in the hangar at 19:00." She said.

Hank nods to her. "Will do ma'am."

Harvey leaned back in his chair, staring at Mary, then trailing his eyes to Hank and Elizabeth and then to the ceiling.

"Well if we're done here, I'm going to get my quarters settled." Frank said standing up.

"I'll show you to your quarters then." Mary says before she walks out of the room.

Hank looks over at Frank. "After you."

"I'm hoping everyone will behave in my building." Harvey says to everyone.

Frank headed out following Mary.

William walked into the Swift building looking around.

Mary leads James and Hank down the hallway, towards an elevator.

"Can I help you?" The front desk lady asks William.

"I'm looking for Mr. Swift" William said "and then maybe later you and I can get a drink."

Frank got onto the elevator with Hank. "So, Hank right?"

Elizabeth headed back to the labs to prepare for the Prime Suit's test.

"Your not the first guy to play that line," The lady tells him, rolling her eyes, "Do you have an appointment with Mr. Swift?"

"Yeah," Hank tells him as the elevator starts going up, "Frank was your name right?"

"Yep, so where ya from?" Frank said making small talk.

"Canada," Hank tells him ,"You?"

Mary waits there as the elevator almost reaches their floor.

"Ireland orginally, then Boston." Frank said. "How about you, Mary?"

"A professional, I can work with that" William said "Capt. William Wisdom of her majesty's Royal Marines."

Mary turns her head to Frank. "California, I was transferred here when I got a job."

The elevator stops at their floor and the doors open. Mary leads them to Frank's room first.

The desk lady pages Harvey. "Mr. Swift, a Capt. William Wisdom is here to see you."

"Ah yes, bring him on up."

"Take the elevator on your right to the 24th floor." She tells William.
