Gotham City- 2100

Brass takes his arm and they leave.

Elsewhere in the city, Heath looks at himself in a mirror, frequent images of Batman flashing through his head. "This city thinks Batman is making it a better place? Well then, I suppose we can remedy that with a better class of criminal. I can converse on that level. Time this city got a Clue."

Derek sends a text message to Angelica about having to head overseas and to do some research on the new gangs. After a drive to the airport they board the jet.

Angelica stares blankly at the text. "Overseas on business...right after a date. Okay, sure," she says, playing along as Lorelei shows her a few things on the computer.

Brass looks out through the window. "This is how the better half lives."

Derek looks at her. "The better half?"

"Never mind," she says, resting her head. "Oh how stressful this position can be."

Derek does an inward sigh and looks out the window nodding a bit. "If you mean better half by people like you and me who are living with comfort, both financially and... mentally...", he paused at the end. "Or maybe the half that tries its best with what they've got while being terrorized by the crooks hiding alleyways... sorry, I didn't mean to get all philosophical and deep again.", he half jokes pouring two drinks.

"Oh, you have no idea," Brass says to herself as she takes a drink, her voice far more at ease.

He watches her, or rather observes her. "You're difficult to read, Brass..."

Brass turns her attention back to Derek. "Is that so?"

"Yes. No matter how many openings you give me I can't quite figure you out. Your motive or your interests.", Derek says leaning forward. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you just like to gamble on things. Live dangerously."

"I do like my...challenges. What's a gamble when it's a sure thing...right?"

"Indeed, it's more fun when the risk is higher, isn't it? Maybe the odds are against you, but, why not, when you only live once.", he says.

"Who can be happy sitting in an office all day? Go out and see what new challenges the world has to offer."

"All the responsiblities, work and worries, wouldn't it be nice to just let it all go for a moment?"

"I'll toast to that," Brass says, offering her glass.

"I knew you would", Derek says with a loopsided grin raising his glass, clinking his glass with hers before taking a sip.

Brass smiles as she takes her sip. "So, where're we headed?"

"I was thinking Brasilia... hmmm, no, how about Chile. Ever been there before?"

"I'm sure I can manage," Brass says.

"I don't have any doubt about that", Derek says with a smile, a gleam in his eye.

The jet eventually landed at the empty airfield with two black cars heading towards them.

Brass steps down and looks around, seeing the cars. "Oh my. For me? You shouldn't have," she says.

"It's not much but it should get us around. It would be best not to drive something flashy here", Derek tells her.

"How thoughtful of you," she says, getting in.

"I do my best", Derek says getting in.

"So, where are we headed?"
