"Didn't she become Bat-Girl in the first place because she just had some of the worst luck imaginable? It's not too foreign an idea that maybe...she just snapped."

"Why would she snap when she finally got a family?"

"Well, she became Bat-Girl because she wanted Vengeance and Penance. Those are two really strong emotional tugs...in the opposite direction. Maybe it got to be too much for her."

"I refuse to believe that."

Lorelei then turns and steps up to the ledge. "I'll leave you to this one," she says, gliding off.

Batman sighs as she leaves and goes towards the CEO and ninja.

The ninja lays there silently, only breathing heavily. The CEO, on the other hand, can't stop rambling. He tries as best he can not to scream or continue crying, rocking himself as he sees Batman approach him.

"You", Batman says to the CEO to try and get some kind of response. "What happened?"

"I-I...Please. Don't hurt me," he says, backing away.

"See to him", Batman says to Bat-Girl before picking the ninja head up.

Jess went through her house checking for something, and grabbed empty boxes, packing items into them without any delays.

"I'm already halfway back to the cave. I'll send the bat wing for em."

"Right, thanks", Batman says before holding the ninja up. "I don't suppose you are willing to give me a recap of what just happened.", he asks, although having an idea of what had happened.

The ninja says nothing. He only stares vigorously into Batman's eyes.

"My guess is that you were caught in the act when trying to get the CEO and then she appeared. You'd benefit in cooperating with me".

"You underestimate the forces at work. You are only a man. She, only a woman. The other, only a child. You cannot stop the events to come. Long Live Ra's al Ghul!" The ninja then frees himself from Batman's grip and casts a smoke pellet, escaping into the night.

"Who gave you this" Frank asked looking at the paper Grace brought him
"We found it at a warehouse being used as a base for some thugs."
"We, who's we?"
"Uhm, me and some clown chick."
"You went on patrol without me?" Frank said a bit angry.
"Hey, you're not my father" Grace spat back at him "I don't have to listen to you."
"I know I'm not but I'm trying to look out for you" Frank sighed "You remember the first time you went out on patrol."
Grace sighed "Alright, fine. So what's so special about the paper?"
"Not sure yet but I'll have it looked at' frank said "We'll figure it out."

"You said too much", Batman says, having been given a name.

Jess heard footsteps and turned quickly. David was in the doorway and had picked up a broken vase.

"Dear lord... Jess, are you alright? Have you notified anyone? Frank? Welll...you have to tell someone."
"No... I don't. I can only depend on myself now. What do you want?"
"I had this on me... her necklace. She had removed it in case they found her before I could get to her, and placed it in my hands."
"She was alive?"
"For barely twenty seconds, not even conscious. But even in those moments, she wanted to pass a message to you. This is it."

Jess didn't even take a step towards him and David sighed setting it down on the table, and phoned Frank.

"What is it, I'm a little busy" Frank said flying above the city with Grace chasing after a pair of would be assassins.

Derek returned home.

Lorelei sits at the monitors, having fallen asleep.

"Can't be too comfortable sleeping like that", Derek says aloud, enough to wake her up.

"I know sir, just a brief message. The McKinlay's home has been ransacked, I'm taking Jess to my parents manor out by Rawcleaf... it'll give her safety and peace."

"What? Huh? Oh, sorry, I was out all day and all night. Even we need a break," She says.
