DC Universe- 2100

"Copy that", Batman says and heads onward with Morningstar.-

The girl sits on a rooftop, restocking her ice grenades into her freeze weapon. Her hood is pulled over her head and she looks over her shoulder every so often, making sure that Batman wasn't there.

"This way", Batman whispers, nearing Frost's lair.

The girl then gets up and looks down over the ledge of the building and creates and ice slide with her freeze gun, slipping down into the streets.

Batman and Morningstar hide in the shadows.

The girl then climbs a fire escape and hides where she sees a number of criminals, all armed with freeze guns.

"I'm not used to sneaking around like this" Morninstar said

"Some villains aren't so easily taken head-on," Batman says. "Frost is one of them. This is his old lair. And assuming he's kept to old habits, he's still around somewhere, working on something very important to him."

"I just don't get the whole creeping in the shadows"

Batman peers into a cold storage room but doesn't see Frost. He then proceeds inside and looks around. He'd been here. That was for certain.

"He's been here. Might've left recently", Batman says.

The on the icy desk is a letter, scented with perfume.

Dear Icebox,

I hope ya don't mind my borrowing' your new freeze gun. The boys keep getting gunned down by better equipped gangsters. I had a friend make replicas. I'll get it back to you eventually.

PS. Hope that dame of yours gets better soon. I'd HATE for something bad to happen to her.

"I see. Madcap", Batman murmurs and takes the letter, sniffing on it lightly before taking a sample of it.

Suddenly an explosive in a different part of the lab goes off, followed by several more.

"Get out", Batman tells Morningstar, running outside.

The base eventually goes up in flames as the heroes escape. Suddenly they're shielded from the blast by a golden light wall. "What are you into now, Batman?" Gold Lantern asks, landing between the two. Looking over her shoulder, she notices Morningstar. "Oh...hello."

"You two know each other?"

"Not in the least," Lantern says. "But I know who he is. Hard not to have heard about Bludhaven's...what was it? Shining Knight?"

"Something like that", Morningstar said.

"So what's going on?"

Batman tells her about the ordeal. "And he might have a daughter."

"Talk about family troubles. All right...so what was this about someone named Madcap? She's the one that blew his lab sky high?"

"I'm thinkin' she is, unless Frost had a timer set.", Batman says.

"So she stole his weapons to get an edge over the other gangs. Then, assuming it was her, she would have blown his lab so he couldn't coordinate any attempts against her. I suppose she dodged a bullet there. But then there's this girl who's apparently Frost's kid...just...running around? It sounds like she's getting revenge on the other gangs for stealing his weapons. Taking a crack at you just sounded like good old fashioned payback."

"It does, doesn't it? I still find it odd that he has a daughter. Or surprising, rather."
