The RPG thread

The only thing Seraphina had to thankful of at this point was that the night's darkness gave her protection. She traveled alone with a pack on her shoulder, a sledgehammer on her back and a jug of purified water in her hand. On the freshly sunsetted horizon, Sera could see a green tent, almost teasing her, on the very edge of her view. She started running.

As she ran, Seraphina heard dry rocks crumbling under her feet. She looked around and noticed there were no zombies or marauders in sight. She was thankful of this also now. As she neared the tent, She noticed it was painted a militaristic green camouflage. For the first time in days she smiled and burst through the tent, expecting to see her camo clad heroes protecting her from the wasteland. Instead, she found a vacant tent, two thin mattresses on the ground, one desk and an armory locker.

She didn't cry, but instead she looked through the drawers of the desk and taking all the ammunition she could find, leaving whatever clipboards and forms she found. She dropped her bag and held her sledgehammer, her only weapon, glaring at the locker. She slammed the lock off with one swipe and opened it. Inside she found several various guns. She took One rifle, one pistol and was forced to leave the rest, unable to carry everything.

Sera looked at the beds, so inviting due to her current circumstances. Rather than resting, she decided to press on and try to find someone who could help her.

James was in a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter flying over an area. He was on the radio. "We haven't seen anybody in this area for days sir...even the raiding parties seem to steer clear..."

A soldier nudged him and gave him a pair of night vision goggles. "Look, we got movement." He said. James looked down seeing a woman walking alone. "Scratch that last sir, we got contact, looks like a civilian survivor." He said watching her. "Looks like she's headed towards base camp."

Sera saw some sort of establishment up ahead. She assumed it was a gang base and pulled her rifle out of her bag, trying to figure out how to load it and shoot and turn safety off.

The UH-60 was flying lower toward the woman, USMC could be clearly seen on the tail of the chopper.

James had his rifle strapped to his back ready to get out.

She held her rifle to the copter, then smiled weakly when she read the letters on the back. She put her rifle back in her pack and ran to it.

James and another Marine hopped out of the helicopter and walked towards her.

Seraphina ran to them and hugged James tightly laughing.

James had his arms out when she hugged him and he looked at the other Marine who just shook his head.

James patted her on the back a couple times. "Umm...what's your name?"

"I'm Seraphina." She said, pulling away and wiping tears. "I'm sorry, it's just so great to see a face that doesn't want to kill me."

James nodded. "Sergeant James Miller." He said. "C'mon, we'll get you to the base."

"Wow, okay, thank you." She lugged her pack and weapons up the helicopter and sat down and shut her eyes.

James and the other Marine got onto the helicopter as it took off.

Seraphina took off a filthy jacket she was wearing and fell asleep in the chopper.

James looked over at her and sat back as the UH-60 flew them back to the large base.

She woke up once they landed and looked around. "Wow.. I haven't seen a place like this since N-Day.."

James looked over at her and got out of the helicopter. "Yeah, well c'mon. We gotta get you checked."

"Okay." Sera hopped out with all her things and followed him.

James escorted her to a large white tent. "You're gonna need to strip naked, a nurse will be in to check you out, then I'll get you a bed and show you around." He said.

Seraphina nodded, being a nurse herself and understanding. She slid her clothes off once he left.

James waited outside.

A nurse walked in and looked at her. "Hello." She said.

"Hi." Seraphina nodded her head in salutations.

The nurse began to check her body for wounds, especially bites. "Have you had any contact with the undead?"

"Yes, but I've been carrying a first aid kit with me. I'm an ER nurse, you see. No bites, though. Only bruises."

The nurse nodded finishing up. "Alright, well if your a nurse we sure could use you around here."
