Spider-Man 2175

The primary run until we figure out the method of expansion.

It's all just...noise. I try to remember and it's like getting static on the TV. Maybe I'm better off not remembering.. Adrienne sits at her desk, tapping her pen against her temple. Her teacher stops at her side. "Adrienne, you're having trouble focusing again? Would you like to go to the nurse?"

"No...thanks, Mr. Baldwin, I'm fine.

I can feel this thing stirring in my head too...what IS it? Where did you come from? Of course you aren't gonna answer me. That'd be too easy. But why did you lead me to that new museum last night? No one was there.

The bell rings and Adrienne leaves. "Hey, Aries!" Someone shouts.

She feels a sudden buzzing her her head and a tingling in her bones, slyly bending over to pretend to tie her shoe as a basketball flies over her and hits a teacher, causing papers to fly from their hands. Adrienne stands back up and looks over her shoulder as the teacher calls out to the boy that threw it. "Ah...Dash. You haven't been to my class since you moved on to the next grade level. Why don't we do a little catching up...in detention?"

Adrienne turns and leaves the building before another sudden sensation as a shiver is sent up her spine. The inky black suit reveals itself and coats the young girl's body. "Okay, here we go again," she says before swinging off and following some form of intuition or direction given to her by the suit itself.

Parker sat in class taking notes when the alarm went off. He looked down at his phone wondering who was calling when he remembered he turned it off. The buzz went off again and he looked at his watch sighing. He got up disrupting the class even more than he already head and made his way for the door when the professor called out his name.

"Sorry, I just remembered an appointment. I'll make up the lab later. Gotta run, already late." He dashed out the door before the professor could protest and turned a dial on his watch as his spider suit covered his body.
"So glad I made that upgrade. Should probably get that patentated and then sell it to the military." He leapt up slinging a web landing on a roof and running along leaping from rooftop to rooftop untill he came to the emergency.

"Thank god you're here Spider-Man."
"It's the Spider" he corrected "So what's the situation?"
"Some man is holding an entire wing of the hospital hostage. Something about his dieing son."
"Right, and what do you expect me to do" Spider says "This sounds more like you need to handle. I'm not a negotiator. Rescuing babies trapped in burning buildings, old ladies in upturned vehicles, hot chicks drowning or stopping robberies but not hostage situations."
"Thought you were supposed to be some big hero" the cop said
"I am, but this isn't something that calls for a hero." Spider said "Why don't you do your job for once." He turned firing a web and swinging off before the cop could protest.

A dark haired woman standing in the streets nearby, watches as Spider-Man tells the officer off and leaves. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She then turns back to face the hospital, hoping for a miracle.

The Spider moved across the roofs makeing his way back home. "Unbelievable, they call me for something like that. Lazy ass flat foots can't do the job their payed to do. Gotta call on me to try and talk a pissed off man down. What the hell did they expect would happen, I go in there and the guy just drops his gun because he get's a chance to meet the hero of New York. Guy probably would've tried taking a shot at me." He stopped looking down at his home and leapt to the street turning off his suit and heading inside.

The woman approaches the officer. "What, your plan was to call Spider-Man? That self centered, irresponsible little prick couldn't help screw in a light bulb. What's your next plan? You have to have one!"

"I'm new on the job here" the officer sighed "They tell meif there's an emergency, call the Spider Man so I did. I've never been in a situation like this before."

Kendra turns and looks up at the building. "Officer, my fiancé is in that hospital. What are this lunatic's demands?"

"He wants someone to cure his son" the officer told her. "That's all he's asked for."

Kendra sighs and holds her head. "Utopia...right," she says to herself. "Looks like the same old problems with a cute chrome finish..." She'd been trained to keep her composure. She was anything but helpless...but she wasn't an army and she wasn't prepared for this. So for the first time in years...she panics.

"I guess we have no choice but to give into his demands" the officer sighed

Kendra pauses and turns to the officer. "You mean this isn't some rare, nigh-incurable illness? For Christ's sake, this man is just asking to have someone healed! He isn't demanding money or an assassination, why wasn't telling the doctors to heal the boy your first course of action?!" For a moment she stops and realizes the line she was about to cross then takes a breath. "Sorry, it's just...my fiancé...please just do what you can to get him out of this safely." Then she leaves, sneaking out of sight and into the hospital to try and manage this herself. Spider-Man she may not have been but she wasn't helpless.

"No, you're wrong" The man shouted at the doctors. "I know you can bring him back. You just don't want to. No one leaves until you cure him or bring me someone that will."

Kendra manages to sneak in and grabs a passing doctor, dragging them into a closet.  "Give. The Boy. The Cure," she says, holding the doctor by the collar against the shelves.

Meanwhile, one man approaches the father. He appeared to be a patient. He sets his hand on the poor guy's shoulder. "Hey, listen, all right? I'm sure we can work this whole thing out. You don't want to do this. Just...just give me the gun and we call all talk this out, huh?"

The man turned putting the gun in his face "You look like a patient, what are you here for?"

"I can't" the doctor said "There is nothing we can do for the boy. We've tried telling that to his father but the man refuses to believe us, he's convinced that we're holding back a cure."

The man stares down the barrel of the gun. "Recovering from a bullet wound," he responds.

Kendra narrows her eyes. "The sad thing is...I believe you. So now you're going to tell me why in the hell I do. This is 'Utopia' right? You should have a cure for everything."

"I'm sorry" the man said lowering the gun


"Do you know what it takes to keep this 'Utopian' society?" The doctor asked not waiting for an answer "We can't save everyone, sometimes sacrafices have to me made. If it were up to me I'd save everyone but it's not."

Kendra scowls at the doctor and drops him, leaving to go and resolve the issue however she could.

The man gently takes the gun from the suspect. "Now take it easy, brother," he says, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Besides, I don't think your kid would want this for you, would he?"

"No, you're right" he sighed as Rocket came crashing through the window slamming into both of them.

Kendra hears the crash from the next room. "What the hell?!" She shouts as she barges in to see what was going on.

"Don't worry, you're safe now" Rocket said tieing up the man with the gun.

The man howls in pain as he's bowled over by Rocket, just in time for Kendra to come in and see what was going on. "Warren!" She shouts as she rushes over to the man beneath Rocket. "What are you doing to him?! Get off him!"

"Stopping this man" Rocket said "do you know him?"

Kendra runs over to Warren on the floor. "Warren. Jesus, baby, are you okay?"

"I...I can't feel my legs," Warren says. "Th-the bullet wound. I...It must have..."

Kendra's eyes grow wide as saucers. One of the doctors approaches Rocket. "This man wasn't the one holding us hostage. He merely talked that man down and got the gun away from him. This man was a patient."

"I didn't know" Rocket said apologetically "I just assumed..."

"Yeah well, this man was recovering" the doctor said going over to help Warren "now you just made it worse."
