"Break it up." Nightingale said. "Can't let this go on with the Cops on the way."

"Alright, you get the Bat we'll take the vamp"

"Enjoy that." Nightingale said leaping into action.

"Thanks" Falcon said

Kasumi blocks Batman's punch with the hilt of her normal blade, then backhands him with it.

Batman grunted but as he was struck he delivered a crushing body shot to Kasumi's kidney.

Kasumi staggers back and flips, landing beside one of the unconscious cops.

Batman spat and glared at her. "Move away from him."

Kasumi touches an uncovered finger to the man's forehead and looks, tauntingly, at Batman.

Batman narrowed his eyes and walked towards her. "Kill him and see what I do to you Kasumi."

"I know what you think you'll do. But I also know what he's done." Kasumi lowers her head. The sounds of gunshots and begging ring in her head. "The blade tells me. Do you know the sound of a child who's lost his or her parents, Batman?"

"You know I do." Batman said stopping a couple feet from her. "But killing him won't do anything but make you feel better until you have to kill the next criminal. You don't get to decide who lives and dies."

Kasumi stares at the cop. "You're right. I don't." She removes her hand from the cop then drops the demon blade from her other one but it stops before it hits the floor. "It does." Then the blade arcs around and impales the cop through the throat before returning to Kasumi's hand.

Batman tackled Kasumi into the side of the car before pinning her sword arm to the ground. "Give up that damned blade Kasumi!"

Kasumi stares Batman in the eye, soullessly.

Batman growled and grabbed the sword hilt trying to pry it from her grip.

Kasumi lets go of the blade and the instant Batman grips it, it surges, shocking him with powerful magical energy. Kasumi gets up and holds out her hand. The blade tears itself from Batman and returns to her. "I can't."

Batman holds his arm and shakes his head. "Yes you can."

"No, Batman. I can't." Police sirens draw nearer and Kasumi vanishes, leaving a cloud of smoke throughout the garage.

"Are you alright?" Nightingale asked Batman.

"I'm fine." Batman said before looking to the others. "Tell your boss to meet me at the GCPD building in two hours." He said before firing a grappling line and zipping up and away into the night.

Nightingale sighed and followed suit.

"Boss? Was he talking about Edgar?" Black Bird asked
"Probably" Falcon said "I'll give him a call."
"Do it on the move" Eagle said "they're getting closer."
The three nodded taking off before the police could get there.

Batman waited for Edgar atop the GCPD building.

Hush arrives on the crime scene and investigates ahead of the rest of the police force. "Jesus," she says. She kneels at the slit throat of one of the fallen cops.

"What is it?" a voice asks over her comm link.

"A down officer. Eckles. I had a hunch he was on the level. I was investigating him." She stands up and looks around at the rest. She checks the pulse of another officer. "I have one living. Looks like whoever did this was out for specific blood, tonight. Also looks like a fire fight broke out."

"You think the Bat?"

"No. He may have been here, but he didn't kill any of the dead ones. Not his style."

She picks up a throwing star on the ground with a gloved hand and places it in her pockets before the rest of the officers arrive.

"It's good to see you again" Edgar said "though it is unfortunate it had to be like this."

Batman nodded. "So, I hear you're recruiting Nightingale."
