DC Universe- 2100

Clue waits for the lights in the steel mill area to start going out. He knew there were more than a couple of surprises waiting for him there.

Cumbustion flipped in the air throwing a knife at the thug shooting him landing with a sigh. "Starting to get bored now." He lazily took out another few thugs turning when he heard one shout.
"Let me out of here man or I'll shoot the b***h."
Cumbustion looked at him fingering the knives beneath his cloak "This is slighly more interesting."
"Just back off man" the thug said backing away.
"Okay" Cumbustion smiled raising his hands "go ahead."
The thug kept back out as Cumbustion watched. He grinned snapping his fingers causing an explosion right behind the thug making him and the hostage fly forwards. He snapped again causing the gun in his hand to explode.

Red Hawk quickly jumped into the action firing a zip line to a nearby fire escape and he zipped over catching the woman in mid air and lading safely on the fire escape's balcony.

Cumbustion looked around seeing the thugs defeated "Ahh, no more fun."

Batman took notice of the steel mill and headed there.

The Steel Mill was dark and surprisingly cold...abnormally cold, in fact.

Batman narrows his eyes looking around as he enters. "Frost...", he mutters to himself.

A few goons see Batman enter.  "It's the freakin' Bat!  Kill him!"

The thugs attack but none of them so much as reach the Dark Knight.  They are all frozen solid in an instant.  Frost emerges from the icy fog in the room, his visor not yet closed.  "Batman."

"Let me guess: on the hunt for research funds?", Batman says as he observes Frost making his way over.

Frost closes the visor of his suit.  "Medical funds, Batman.  My wife and daughter are unfortunately not growing better.  This is not personal."  Then he aims his freeze gun and fires.

Batman rolls to the side avoiding the first blast before running counter clockwise, throwing batarangs at Frost's visor. "Of course not."

"That will not work, Batman.  I've learned from our last encounter," Frost says as the rangs bounce off.  Then he aims the gun at the floor just ahead of Batman, icing it.

Batman slips and slides across the surface as he fires a grapplehook at one of the beams ahead of Frost, flying the same direction he was going due to the momentum. He swings in close and lets go off the rope, drop kicking with enough force to push Frost back.

A FlashFreeze grenade attached to Batman's cape suddenly lights up.

Batman disconnects the cape from his shoulders before it freezes the material and shatters into pieces once it connects with the floor.

Frost turns a dial on his freeze gun and fires upward, filling the room with a thick icy fog.  He activates his du it's heat tracing function and detects Batman, aiming and firing through the fog at him from an uncertain position.

Batman however was used to moving through fog. The only issue right now was that it was difficult to see Frost's heat signature, as he didn't have one. 

He rolls out of the way in time when that familiar sound comes to his ears and proceeds to try and evade every blast, while unknown to Frost he kept throwing devices onto the beams of the steel mill that stuck onto the surface. He was going to find another way to get a better view of Frost and this was it, he thought, as his sonar vision activated. He rushed toward the cold scientist.

"So you have adapted.  Then so shall I," Frost says as he lets loose a couple of heat seeking explosive drones that lock onto Batman.

Batman throws a number of EMP charged batarangs that disable the incoming drones before they can reach him. "Good try.", he says and avoids the detonation as he slids back on his feet ontop of the slick ice surface. "But not good enough.", he says and rushes again.

"Brute force gets you nowhere, Batman.  I will turn your blood to ice," Frost says as he turns a dial on his freeze gun.  The next blast fires wide instead of in a straight line.

Batman leans back and drops down on his knees sliding forward fast toward Frost, barely avoiding the wide ice blast. He moves back up on his feet and with the momentum performs an uppercut that knocks the gun out of Frost's grip. He grabs the man by his suit and throws him across the ice and headfirst against a large steel cauldron.

Frost sits there for a moment, then gets up as his suit restores to full.  Then he approaches Batman.  "I am more than capable of defending myself without the gun, Batman," he says.  "But against me, are you so prepared without yours?"  Another grenade, attached to Batman's belt lights up.

Batman rips a part of his belt off and throws it to the side before the grenade activates. He wasn't going to waste anymore time. "Why don't we find out, Frost.", he says and picks up a running start at him.

Frost deploys two more heat seekers before beginning to approach Batman.

'Of course he wouldn't risk the money just to prove a point', Batman thought. He throws down a handful smoke pellets hidden inside his glove to use as merely a distraction, but also drops his last explosive batarang on the floor which charged up and drew the drones' attention before they exploded, forcing Batman to change his path and come at Frost from the side.
