"Oh yeah.' Suzie says as she walks back to her chair and picks up her glass of milk.

William nodded taking a drink of his beer.

"Marian Tanner, sir. Uh... you will teach me sometime how to attract the amount of females like you do? Already leaving sir!" he said scattering out.

Talbot glared a little as his assistant walked out.

"We're marines, everyone already knows were the best" Keith smiled "The 'Special' in Special Corps means if there's a symbiot on the loose or some super powered villian the regular military can't handle they call us"

"Ah... we need a slogan then, Keith. Who ya gunna call? Ghostbusters? Nope... call the SC guys," Jana replied, "And girls."

"Talk to Gen. Miller about that" Keith chuckled

"General Miller, would have to suffer through many other stupid comments and requests, I'll save him the burden of having me jumping on that bandwagon. I think cause you're still young-ish like I am, you can see the humour of it."

The assistant gave a melodic knock to the door, and it opened pushing Marian inside. She turned to face Talbot.

"So what can I do for you?" Talbot asked.

Keith nodded "So, back to what we were working on."

"We are out to achieve a similar objective, why not try to do it together?" Marian answered.

"I believe with the right research I could find out for you where they're building these machines," Jana said.

Talbot leaned on his desk. "And that is?"

"I know that you have Kristyan under your thumb, she's my creation. I can end her as well as the models. Unless... maybe if I had my daughter Ashleigh things might get changed."

Talbot took a sip of his scotch and looked at her. "I want something from your daughter."

"That's the part where we both have something in common," Marian replied pulling back the hood of her jacket, "You're not out to kill her are you?"

"I need her alive." Talbot said. "Her death...would be counter productive to my needs."

Arthur escorted Ashleigh back.

"Thanks for the babysitting shift, mate... but I really don't see why Keith wants to keep me from knowing things," Ashleigh said when they stopped, "I mean, I've lost my real and adoptive parents, lost my horse, walked into walls, been electrocuted, my farm exploded, been burned to a crisp and nearly lost my life. If he wants to protect me, take down Kristyan, Hunter... everyone. I'd love my old life back when I was some boring kid studying medicine and ran my own farm."

"Nearly two hundred years ago," Marian spoke after a long period of silence, "a new kind of plague appeared. Tens of thousands died before a new cure was discovered. Those who took the cure, were not aware of the side effects, that they would remain immortal. Unfortunately, the cure also made us infertile. My husband and I created two separate clones- a male and a female over the years to determine which could change us, and allow us to have children. After many years, we decided we needed to go about things in a different manner. The 1980's allowed surrogacy and I immediately jumped at the opportunity. And in no time, Ashleigh was handed to us to look after."

Talbot nodded. "I see."

"Thank you" Keith said heading out of his office "Let me know when you find it."

Marian raised her eyebrows, "My husband said you'd be shocked with that information, I disagreed. Ashleigh has the most amazing powers, and it was even more special that we didn't create her. But there was this stabbing pain, that one day we would live to watch her die. Our friends all passed before us, friends we should've went to heaven with all around the same time. So we started to wonder if we could give the injection to Ashleigh. Because she became our daily priority, we soon forgot all about the clones, and the first clones were like children, highly jealous."

Jana turned her head back to Keith and went to the door, "Keith..." she called after him, "Don't forget, the Berlin wall was pulled down, the World Trade towers crumbled... things that people build and the titles they give themselves, one day they show their cracks."

"Tell me somethign I don't know" Keith said putting on his hat and heading out

Talbot looked at her. "Seems like they were."

"Obtaining Ashleigh will be easy, but keeping her won't be."
