Outbreak

James smiled and looked her over a little before closing the door and walking off to the barracks.

Seraphina showered, shaved and made a list of things she wanted.

James firing at some chained up Undead, getting target practice in.

Seraphina found her way to the shooting range and made her way to James. She had on a pair of fresh clothes; Warm leggings, a tank top, a jacket and a pair of boots. "Hi. I have a list."

James looked over and looked her over. "Hey, alright."

She handed him the list. "I think I'm going to get to bed and then leave first thing tomorrow morning."

"Alright, want a good meal first though?" James asked.

"Yes, that sounds good." Seraphina said, realizing that she was extremely malnourished and probably starving.

James nodded. "C'mon." He said. "I'll take ya to the mess hall."

"Thank you for everything." She followed him.

James nodded. "No problem." He said walking with her into the mess hall.

Sera's mouth began to water when she saw all the food ready to be eaten.

James got into line with her.

She stood behind him with a tray and filled up with anticipation.

James got himself some food.

She put food on her tray, but didn't fill it up since her stomach had shrunk in the past weeks.

James got themselves a table after getting his meal.

"I can't wait to eat food that hasn't been in a can." She said sitting down.

James smiled at her. "I bet, I felt the same way after the war ended." He said taking a bit. "4 years of nothing but MREs and water...I was going crazy." He chuckled.

"Oh, I should probably grab some of those." Seraphina noted. "So how long have you been in the service?"

"Eight years, joined when I was Eighteen." James said taking a drink.

"Would you ever consider leaving?" She asked.

"Well...I dunno, it's good here, good food, shelter, running water, and I get to protect people." James said.

"Well what I plan on doing once I leave is go to a few settlements I've heard about around the wastes and fixing up whoever I can. I was going to say you could come with me, maybe protect me between settlements. There's nothing really in it for you. I don't have any money left. I actually don't have anything you don't already have to offer you that you don't have here." Seraphina said, eating.

James nodded. "Well, the General does want to get the word out about this place, I could go with you and do that, he wants as many people as possible to come here and live, he's trying to rebuild America I think."
