PostSubject: Plot   Plot Icon_minitimeTue Jul 02, 2013 8:42 am

So the story will kick off in the midst of a series of media attacks of intimidation (think Mandarin from Iron Man 3) by a group called HIVE. This group inspires anarchy and terrorism throughout the world, calling for a sort of revolution, but they're total extremists and going about it the wrong way.

Anyway, I think it'd be nice for the story to be set in Jump City, the city that the cartoon series took place in, just to be far enough away from too many adult heroes who would probably handle any crime in the area. Make sense?
So since our characters are teens, I think it'd be fitting for our team to sort of come together when a group of students in the school decides to make HIVE's presence known within the student body and in the form of a shooting. We'll introduce a first villain, but no one too powerful; Grant Wilson, Deathstroke's son.

This, I think, is a good opening plot, except that if you intended for your characters to be already established heroes, it might be a little random for them to be attending a high school in Jump City, but hey, alternate universe.

are you talking about the Teen Titans cartoon or Young Justice? TT was set in San Fran and YJ is set in Happy Harbor.

The TT Cartoon was in Jump City which is based on San Francisco. At least, that's what the comic based on the cartoon says. The actual continuity comic is in San Fran, I believe.

Well using Dick Grayson I can just have him be in Jump City while he and Batman are having a fight, so he'll be Robin for a little bit then he'll take up the Nightwing moniker I guess.

Donna doesn't exactly go to school and Court can just be on a field trip there or whatever. She's more of an on-call type. I'm probably gonna have Pat around to keep an eye on her and have him come up with some reason he and Court aren't going to be around Blue Valley for a while to tell Star's mother.

Garth is the same way, doesn't exactly go to school on land. Lives in Atlantis and any schooling he does get is done there. If anything he'd be accompanying Aquaman there for some reason.

Hm well then maybe we could think of a plot that works for all of our characters.

Could say it's summer or something.  Pat could tell Court's mom they're going to meet with family or go on a father-daughter retreat when he's they're actually there on superhero business of their own and just get caught up in the HIVE stuff. Donna could be flying by and witness the trouble.

I can just copy and past Dick's comic history over here. He's out and about trying to become a little more independent and he's in Jump City when everything happens. Dick then joins the Teen Titans and after awhile he and Bruce get into an argument about Robin's duties and Batman fires Robin, prompting him to become Nightwing.

How's this: one of the HIVE's higher-ups has been captured and is being transported through Jump City where Grant Wilson tries to intercept him. It can become a hostage situation where Wilson captures the chief of police or something and demands the HIVE member in return. When negotiation reaches a stand-still, the established heroes (Robin, Aqualad, Wondergirl, etc.) can intervene and meet.

Lilith, however, is still a low-level psychic and an ordinary girl. She'll have to have some kind of relation to one of the others. Maybe Grant? Anyone interested in playing him?

Those are good plots but perhaps with kara being from metropolis and Tula from probably Florida what if the reason they come together at a school in San Francisco is for perhaps a sporting competition? Kara could be up for athletics and Tula swimming?

You would then have a reasonable explanation to why they all meet up an can have them meet just before the events happen? Cause both the girls I'm using don't have parents and are in foster families, a holiday would be hard to do.

Except then Wonder-Girl, Aqualad, Star, and Robin wouldn't have a reason to be there. And for the ones that actually attend school and whatnot, there'd be no reason for them to stick around with the team. Just making it Summer Break is pretty flexible. And since time barely seems to move, we can basically keep it Summer for as long as we want.

so what's the plan here? not sure if anyone else noticed it in the talk lounge but I did suggest a tournament of champions type idea as to how our charactes all first meet. It'd be pretty much like the episode of Teen Titans with the Master of games where Robin, Beast Boy, Cyborg and other young male heroes are summoned by the Master of games to compete in a tournment to decide who is the ultimate hero while stealing the powers of the 'losers' with his special amulet. They evenutally come together to defeat him and return home.

Could be very similar to that where all our (young) heroes are summoned to compete in a tournament by the Master of Games who plans on stealing their abilities. Lilith (or someone else) could discover the plan and unite those whose powers/abilities he hasn't already taken to defeat him and suggest they form a team.

Since all of them are still young and should be in school what if each of them receives a scholarship to a school in Jump City. Could have their 'mentors' be the ones that set everything up for them to all be in one place so that they can function as an actual team instead of spread out all over the planet.

Minus Donna who doesn't go to school. I'll just keep Courtney in Blue Valley since a big part of her character when she's younger is being forced to move away from California.

Master of Games could be cool but didn't he also grab Gizmo? Pretty sure he snags villains too. If I were playing a villain, it'd be Jinx.

Garth doesn't go to school either, so there wouldn't be that many at the school. but it'd be a good reason for all of them to be in the same place. Courtney, Lilith and Dick I think are the only three that actually attend highschool. Not sure about kara or tula. I want to bring in Speedy/arsenal but still not sure if tange is wanting to use him or not.

Karas already pushing a high age, I'm not sure how old most are by the time you graduate high school/college but my birthday is in October so I was still in year 12 at my 18th, if Kara is 17 she could be born late in the year and is a senior. However I'm not sure how university an college applies. The freshmen stuff doesn't occur here so she could be about to leave high school which plays on her mind as to what she does next in life.

I'm making Tula a bit more younger fitting more teenager profile. Maybe year 10 or 11.

Most Americans are around 17-18 when they graduate from High School so being 17 is fine age wise for her.

Yeah. American aging generally slates 13-18 as teenager. The line of where you hit "adult" varies between 18 and 21 depending on who you ask and what state you're in...and what activities you're looking to partake in.

But yeah the Master of Games thing should be a good way to get em all in one place, at least initially.
