DC Universe- 2100

Nightwing saw the signal on his mask's visor. "He's getting close."

A woman stood on a high building over looking Amusement Mile. "This is my park." She said to herself.

Clue waits, leaning back in his seat.   By now Batman will probably have dealt with one of the surprises in the Steel Mill...one.  And if he knew the second one at all, Batman was about to get very tired very quickly.

Red Hawk quickly followed after Combustion.

"Still with me I see" Cumbustion smiled looking back at him.

"Well you're easy to follow." Red Hawk said.

Cumbustion just smirked "It was a fun chase though wasn't it. I know my blood's pumping, what about yours?"

"I kinda just want to hit you. You endangered a lot of people." Red Hawk said.

Cumbustion shrugged turning to leave

Red Hawk threw a Stun Red Bird at Combustion as he turned away.

Cumbustion turned burning it in the air. "Gotta do better than that."

As Batman turns to leave, suddenly he hears a loud rumble and the ceiling just over him caves in.  A gleaming metal body emerges from the settling dust and debris.  It stood seven feet tall and with a hulking frame.  "Hello, Batman," says a familiar and dreaded voice in a Russian accent and metallic filter.  Automaton.  "I see you are without your more useful toys.  This is good.  It means that Dr. Frost served his purpose to me.  Now if you will do me a favor.  DIE!"  The massive machine-man raises his hands and slams them down into the floor of the steel mill, rippling the ground toward the Bat.

Batman performs a backflip to evade the rippling ground before he can evaluate this new situation. "Can't say I'm surprised you're here. You're a natural low life scavenger after all."

"Yes, yes, Batman, banter and attempt to stall or distract me and buy yourself time," Automaton says as he swings wide at the bat.

"I did." Red Hawk said clicking a button the sent a powerful sonic screech out at Combustion loud enough to paralyze a man.

A pair of shadows dropped down into the Steel Mill.

Cumbustion dropped to his knees clutching at his ears

Red Hawk walked towards him extending his fighting stick.

Cumbustion slowly started to get back to his feet struggling to block out the noise.

Red Hawk delivered a strike with his fight stick across Combustion's face.

"You're slow, too.", Batman adds to the insult as he kept out of harms way from the Russian's mean swings, making his way further inside the mill.

"Stooping to schoolyard insults, Batman?  I had figured you above that."  The machine man feints then reaches and grabs Batman, locking him in a bear hug.  "Regardless of my body's limitations to speed, you have slowed down considerably, bat.  What could be the problem?  Have you grown tired?  This night hasn't worn down the legendary Dark Knight, has it?"

"No. I was buying time.", Batman says, expecting either Nightwing or the two shadows from earlier to come forth.

Cumbustion grabbed the stick setting it on fire.

Red Hawk smirked. "Nomex fire resistant covering...and oh yeah...it's electrically charged." He said electrocuting Combustion.

Nightwing and Nightingale came from the shadows behind Automaton throwing EMP Wing-Dings and Larks that let out their pulses out shutting down the machine man for a few seconds.

Automaton laughs inwardly.  "So, you broke the rules set by a mad man.  I would question the wisdom of such a decision," he says as his body returns to his control.  He immediately turns and slams both hulking fists into the floor.
