USS Enterprise

In her seat Susie muttered away the arrival speech as if she knew it off by heart, feeling sorry for the poor flight attendant who looked to had said it a million times in her day. She was right though, looking out the window, the weather was perfect, warm and sunny. A better contrast to Los Angeles, the sunshine city was pouring down with rain as she left, and it was early in the morning, she was too sleepy to bother to take in the scene as they took off.

As she stood to remove her overhead locker bags, she noticed that there were quite a few military people on her flight. She swallowed a gulp, this really was it. No turning back now. She could almost hear the words of her parents drowning in her ear.

"It's not safe. There's nothing wrong with keeping things simple and being a doctor in your own home city."

The roar of jet engines filled the air as a F-35C took off from the flight deck of the USS Enterprise. A simple routine flight to keep the flight crew on their toes.

Nicholas looked on as the jet took off. He'd always wanted to try the F-35C but as he looked back to his own F/A-18E the thought quickly vanished. His jet was an older model but it was still a top rated fighter jet in the world and he would trade her for anything in the world. Not even and X-Wing.

Kirsty had arrived on an earlier flight and was on the deck checking out the jets, the latest jets she added to herself. And out the corner of her she wasn't alone. Grabbing her pack over her shoulder she went up to Nicholas.

"They'll never know how good it is up there!" she called out above the noise, "Once told a guy its better than sex... it wasn't until he needed to be airlifted in a helicopter that he believed me."

Nicholas chuckled. "Yeah, it's really does have it's perks."

"Lieutenant? What a shame... I'm looking for those that I can bully," Kirsty laughed.
