Northern Water Tribe

Cao stood on the bridge looking out seeing the Northern Water Tribe in the distance. "Only an hour maybe two until we arrive sir."
"Good." Cao said.

"He wasn't always so uptight" Panni said "He used to be fun."

"Up until when?" Naida asked, looking down at the ocean.

(Posted costume if anyone cares)

"That's hard to say" Panni sighed "He burned one of our friends showing off as a kid and that messed him up. Then our parents were taken leaving us on our own."

"That's sad." She said and felt as if she had to say something about herself now. "I think my mother is the queen of the Water Tribe now." Naida said. "My father was banished years ago. I fled because the pressure of being the princess was too much. It's a lot of pressure."

"Princess eh?" Cao said walking towards them.

Naida took a step away from Cao, not completely trusting the Fire Nation. "Well, that is, if my grandfather has died yet. He was ill when I left and my mother was next in line."

"I bet it got real tiring dressing up to look good at all those parties and ceremonies" Panni said "Must have been a pain in the ass to have men and women serving you day and night."

"Are you mocking me?" Naida turned to Panni. "It actually is very hard to have no time to one's self. I would love to brush my own hair or dress myself when I return, but that isn't a choice. Everything is made out for me and it's not as fun as it sounds. It's very hard to follow every tradition, as well."

"You're the princess tell them to back off. They do have to listen to you don't they?" Panni shrugged

Cao just chuckled listening.

"It's not that simple." Naida said. "When will we arrive?" Her stomach started to churn in nervousness to confront her mother.

"Sure it is , you just don't want to do it because despite what you say here you enjoy all the attention" Panni said getting up "And I believe he said an hour or two."

"Yes...couple hours at the most, and what a pleasure I get to return the Water Tribe's Princess."

"What are you here for again?" Naida asked suspiciously.

"Diplomatic relations like I said." Cao told her. "I suppose you assume on the grounds of me being from the Fire Nation I'm here to lay waste to your people with only three ships?"

"Well your people have tried stupider things." Naida pointed out.

Cao crossed his arms. "You know, if not for my people the Water Tribes would be in poverty...not like Fire Lord Zuko rebuilt everything for you...and you know what we may just have to make a detour now."

Naida rolled her eyes. Her hands slid out of her silky, oversized sleeves. "I expected as much. I can make it from here."

"Oh yes the Fire Nation is horrible and little Water Tribe's are flawless." Cao said. "And no, sit down shut your mouth and don't bother to thank the Fire Nation soldiers that rescued you two from Aangstad and gave you a free ride." He said walking to the bridge.

Naida froze. No one had ever really spoken to her like that. She didn't say anything.

Panni stood listening

Cao spat on the deck of the ship walking up the stairs into the Command Bridge.

Some soldiers and Fire Benders on the deck looked on.

She snapped out of her daze and shook her head. "All the same."
